Meet Chris Kads

Experienced Writer & Editor

Chris Kads holds a BA in Literature and a Certificate in Writing from Arizona State University, where she graduated with Honors and a 4.0. Now, Chris works full-time as a technical writer and editor at a water engineering company.

Outside of her day job, Chris creates poems, novels, picture books, and young adult short stories. She's had works published in four separate anthologies, and she's been published in numerous magazines including, but not limited to:

In 2025, Chris' poem "Missing the Tide", received a Glendon and Kathryn Swarthout Award for Undergraduate Poetry, and in the summer of 2026, she released her first anthology, An Apple a Day: A Collection of Poems and Short Stories Centered Around Apples.

When she is not focusing on creating works to submit to publishers and competitions, Chris enjoys being the EIC of Kads Corner Literary Magazine, an online journal centered around publishing pieces with social/political commentary, visceral imagery, and raw emotion.

Chris strives to create stories that inspire people to work toward change in their communities. She hopes to make her family, boyfriend, friends, and pup proud with her literary pieces.
